The University of Ferrara is a very old, strong, structured and well-established institution, founded in 1391 by Marquis Alberto V d’Este upon the authorisation issued by Pope Boniface IX with the papal Bull “In Supreme Dignitatis”. Its identity is rooted in the historical and cultural tradition that welcomed and formed illustrious figures such as Copernico, Paracelso and Giovanni Pico della Mirandola.
