Introduction

Brief description Universidad de Chile is the most prestigious university in Chile and the largest among the public ones. With more than 40,000 students (undergraduate and graduate), 331 academic programs, 3,980 faculty, and 19 schools and institutes, the University has contributed decisively to the development of the country since 1842. Being the first University founded in Chile, its more than 55,000 alumni (2010-2022) stand out in the nation for their strong public service orientation. Altogether, the university, students, faculty, and personnel are making their own impact around the world into different areas of the economy and society. Mission The mission of the Universidad de Chile is to produce, integrate, and disseminate knowledge and culture across all areas. Throughout a comprehensive principle of excellence in teaching, research, and service, the University aims at contributing for continued individual, scientific, technological, economic, and social advancement. It is the role of the University to be responsible to contribute Chile´s cultural heritage development, and to build capacity for the betterment of the educational system in the country.
